India's Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has once again appealed to passengers to refrain from filming reels and dance videos for social media platforms inside the metro trains. In a recent release, DMRC emphasized that such activities that may cause inconvenience to fellow passengers are strictly prohibited. The advisory comes in the wake of numerous viral videos on social media showing people dancing and making Instagram reels inside the metro coaches.
DMRC has issued such advisories multiple times in the past, urging people to follow guidelines and not disturb fellow passengers. However, the number of such incidents has increased lately, prompting the DMRC to reiterate its appeal. The DMRC official told that organized shooting inside the metro is strictly prohibited, and prior permission needs to be taken even for film shoots. If permission is granted, some amount is charged as a token of apology for the inconvenience caused to commuters.
While such videos might be fun to watch, the discomfort and shock of other passengers should not be ignored. DMRC has urged passengers to be responsible and not cause trouble to fellow commuters. In its tweet, DMRC reminded passengers to "travel, don't cause trouble" and to "be a passenger, not a hassle" while riding the Delhi Metro.
