Rare Cosmic Union of Venus and Earth's Satellites witnessed with Naked Eye!

Yesterday (24th March 2023), a Rare Cosmic Event was witnessed by people around the world. This cosmic union involved Venus, the planet of the solar system, and the Earth's satellites, and was visible to the naked eye. This rare event has garnered a lot of attention from scientists and the general public alike.

It is not easy to see Venus and The Earth's satellites in one line due to their different orbits, orbital speed, and distance from the sun. Therefore, it is not possible to predict exactly when they will come close together while orbiting the sun. Sometimes, this connection happens after 400 years or more. The time when this cosmic union occurs is considered the rarest moment by scientists.

Anupam Naskar, a representative from the Calcutta Astronomy Center, explained the phenomenon in more detail. He said, "As the Moon revolves around the Earth, we see the Moon gradually moving eastward across the sky. On the way to this move, the moon has hidden Venus today. And from the place where this hidden path is met, you can see the lunar occultation or Lunar Occultation."

The Moon's eastward movement across the sky gradually hides Venus during its revolution around the Earth, creating a lunar occultation or Lunar Occultation. On this particular day, the moon covered Venus at around 4:43 pm. However, due to the presence of the sun in the sky at that time, the cosmic union was not visible.

Fortunately, the sky over Kolkata was clear in the evening, making it possible for people to witness this rare cosmic event. The visibility of this cosmic union has sparked a lot of excitement among astronomers and space enthusiasts worldwide.

The event was not only an incredible sight but also a significant opportunity for scientists to learn more about Venus and its relation to the Earth's satellites. By studying the cosmic union, researchers can gain insights into the dynamics of the solar system and its planets.

Venus is a rocky planet that is similar in size and mass to the Earth. It is the second planet from the Sun and has a dense atmosphere that is mostly composed of carbon dioxide. Venus's thick atmosphere traps heat, making it the hottest planet in the solar system, with temperatures that can reach up to 864 degrees Fahrenheit (462 degrees Celsius).

Venus rotates in the opposite direction of the Earth and most other planets in the solar system. This backward rotation makes Venus one of the most intriguing planets in the solar system for scientists to study.

The cosmic union observed recently is a rare event, but it is not the only one of its kind. In the past, similar cosmic unions have occurred, such as the transit of Venus in 2012. During this event, Venus crossed in front of the Sun, creating a tiny black spot that could be seen from Earth.

The transit of Venus was significant because it allowed scientists to measure the distance between the Earth and the Sun accurately. By observing the transit from different parts of the world and measuring the time it took for Venus to cross the Sun's disk, scientists were able to calculate the distance between the Earth and the Sun with remarkable accuracy.

Overall, the cosmic union witnessed recently was a rare and exciting event that has captured the attention of scientists and space enthusiasts worldwide. Although such events occur infrequently, they provide valuable opportunities for researchers to learn more about the dynamics of the solar system and its planets. As technology advances, we can expect to witness more incredible cosmic events and learn more about the universe we live in.

Tragic Blaze Claims Six Lives, Including Four Women, in Secunderabad!

A major fire broke out in a multi-storey commercial complex in Secunderabad, Hyderabad's twin city, on March 16, leaving at least six people dead. According to the North Zone DCP Chandana Deepthi, four girls and two boys lost their lives in the incident. The massive fire reportedly broke out at Swapnalok Commercial Complex around 7:30 pm, and a preliminary investigation suggested that a short-circuit caused the blaze.

The victims belonged to Warangal and Khammam districts of Telangana and were employed by a marketing company that had an office in the complex. The victims were inside the complex when the fire broke out, and by the time they were taken out, they were critical and were declared dead on being taken to a hospital. Seven people were rescued from the building, and the rescue operation is still underway.

According to a witness, the fire started in the complex that houses several offices. Telangana minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav also arrived at the spot to oversee the rescue operation. "Fire engines and rescue teams are at the spot, fighting the flames. There are reports that at least 5-6 people are still stuck in a room inside the building. Rescue teams are using iron rods to break the wall and rescue those trapped inside. So far, they have rescued 11 people," he said.

This is not the first time such a mishap has happened in Telangana. In January this year, three people were killed in a major fire in a five-storey commercial building in Secunderabad. The fire-ravaged building was subsequently demolished.

The incident has once again raised concerns over fire safety measures in commercial buildings. Authorities must take steps to ensure that such accidents are prevented in the future. The families of the victims should also be compensated adequately for their loss.

"Indian Film 'RRR' Makes History by Winning First Oscar for Best Original Song with 'Naatu Naatu"

In a historic moment for Indian cinema, SS Rajamouli’s RRR has become the first Indian feature film to win an Academy Award. The film's 'Naatu Naatu' soundtrack, composed by MM Keeravani and written by Chandrabose, was awarded the Best Original Song at the 95th Academy Awards held at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, California on March 12, 2023.

The song was in contention with some notable tracks from Hollywood films, including ‘Applause’ from Tell It Like A Woman, ‘Hold My Hand’ from Top Gun: Maverick, ‘Lift Me Up’ from Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, and ‘This is Life’ from Everything Everywhere All At Once. But it was 'Naatu Naatu' that emerged victorious, with the composers and lyricists accepting the award on stage amidst much applause and celebration.

Keeravani delivered his acceptance speech in a unique way, by rewriting the lyrics of the classic Carpenters song 'We've Only Just Begun' to thank the Academy and express his gratitude for the award. The win is a significant milestone for Indian cinema, as 'Naatu Naatu' becomes the first song from an Indian film to win an Oscar.

The song had already won the Golden Globe for Best Original Song earlier this month, making RRR the first Indian film to win a Golden Globe. The song's popularity was evident during the Oscars ceremony, as the track's singers Rahul Sipligunj and Kala Bhairava gave a stunning performance that earned them a standing ovation.

'Naatu Naatu' draws inspiration from the lives of freedom fighters Komaram Bheem and Alluri Sitarama Raju and tells a fictional tale set in the 1920s. The film boasts an ensemble cast that includes Jr NTR, Ram Charan, Ajay Devgn, Alia Bhatt, Olivia Morris, Samuthirakani, Alison Doody, and Ray Stevenson. The film has been highly anticipated by fans and critics alike, and this Oscar win is sure to only add to the film's popularity and success.

It is worth noting that 'Jai Ho' from the 2008 British film Slumdog Millionaire, composed by AR Rahman and penned by Gulzar, was the first Hindi song to win an Academy Award in the Best Original Score and Original Song categories. With 'Naatu Naatu' winning the Best Original Song award, it is a proud moment for Indian cinema and a testament to the talent and creativity of the film's composers and lyricists.
